Grandma's Whisper

 Part-2 of The girl in the field

I started walking towards my home. I was scared and wasn’t able to say a word from my mouth. I started wondering that if that girl was a devil who may have possessed me. I was sure that I was going to scolded if I was not home before sunrise so, I started walking faster with my broken slippers in my hands the sunrise was going to set up and I was home in my small but cozy room, uncle was fast asleep. For sure I was not able to take a nap because of my ruined night and my uncle’s snoring. I started distracting myself by watching the immense sunrise but it didn’t helped whenever I saw out the scene of night is reminded to me. I was happy that just then my aunt entered the room and started making the dozed off uncle awake and up to work. I got out of the room shivering and headed towards my grandma’s room. It was my favourite place in our home I am used to sit on the window and hear stories from her. Whenever I asked her is the story true she won’t answer.  But this time it was a little different. I got in her room and made me comfortable on her old and only room in the home. I didn’t hide anything from grandma; she was the only one to help me out. Before I could say anything grandma asked me,”whats’s the matter my child, you look little wired today.”I knew she got it that I was hiding something but I reacted normal. I wasn’t able to look in her deep blue mysterious eyes. My day went in wandering through the market as the sun started to set I found my way back to home and it was time for grandma’s story. I started being normal and forgetting everything. I asked grandma if I could spend night with her and she allowed me. I was now happy that my life will fall back to normal. We both adjusted ourselves in the old but comfortable bed. Grandma started the story ,she described a family and a boy who was a part of it, everything was fine but then my grandma started narrating the things which has happened to me. I was turning pale blue like sky as such I was driven into great danger. I tried to stop her but she won’t. I started searching for water, making things fall here and there. I almost swallowed the whole water at once when she said the girl possessed children and take them in deep woods and never returned them.

And there comes the end. I don’t have words express how I felt I rolled myself in my grandma and started thinking that what had happened to me was truly horrifying. I was blank my grandma pulled me back and whispered  to me in her screeching low and old voice, “you saw her didn’t you?”
